0 Sirturo, a drug to treat Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis

FDA( Food and Drug Administration) approved the drug called 'Sirturo' to treat Multi drug resistant tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is highly infective and is transmitted through air especially and will infect mostly lungs. It sometimes infect Brain and kidney also. Multi drug resistant tuberculosis is the later stage of tuberculosis where , the drugs which are commonly used to treat TB are Rifampicin and Isonozaid are developed resistance by Micro-bacillus tuberculosis bacteria and hence TB will not be cured 100% .

Sirturo has been discovered by Janssen Pharmaceuticals and it is advised to prescribe only when other options for treatment is unavailable. It has some negative affects for heart's  electrical activity. As the disease is highly threatening, the discovery of drug is a boon for patients affected especially for the people in poorer countries. About 12 million people has been affected with tuberculosis in 2011 out of which 630000 has multi drug resistant TB.
