World Cancer Day (WCD) is observed every year on February 4. Celebration of World Cancer Day signifies the effort to unite the world and devise strategies to fight against cancer and aim to curb and bring down the deadly disease.
World Cancer Day was formed in the year 1933 in Geneva, Switzerland under Union for International Cancer Control(UICC) with support of world's prominent cancer societies.
World Cancer Day 2013 (February 4, 2013) will focus on
Target 5 of the world cancer Declaration:
Dispel damaging myths and misconceptions about
cancer, under the tagline “cancer – Did you know?”
World Cancer Day is a chance to raise our
collective voices in the name of improving general knowledge around cancer and
dismissing conceptions about the disease.

with few tips to avoid chances of Cancer

Avoid potentially carcinogenic
compounds, such as formaldehyde (found in car exhaust and in sealant
products) benzene, asbestos and many others.

Drink plenty of water
|
Don’t use tobacco
|
Eliminate
hydrogenated fats
|
Stay active and maintain
healthy weight
|
Make green vegetables part of every meal
|
Reduce stress
|
Eat
a diet high in anti-oxidants like beta-carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E and
more Vitamin D.
|
Avoid added sugars
|
Especially include red fruits like strawberries, cherries
and tomatoes in your diet, as they contain chemicals brimming with the
anti-oxidant lycopene
